Social Studies follows the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards (NGSSS) and students are exposed to authentic applications of how the world affects their everyday life. Using Smart Board technology, the teacher is able to use multiple strategies while teaching. These include: using lecture type instruction, blended learning, classroom discussion, personalized learning, demonstrations, gamification, modeling, etc. A few examples of the hands-on learning that are used in the classroom are mock elections, mock court trials, writing budgets, and participating in market simulations that discuss the economy.
